TIL Desk/National/UP/ The two leading ladies of their clans – Priyanka Gandhi and Dimple Yadav – are expected to be the star campaigners for a possible coalition in UP between the Congress and SP.
The new rumours have emerged after reports of a meeting between Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and UP CM Akhilesh Yadav began to circulate. Congress sources said, ‘Akhilesh and Dimple are expected to meet Rahul and Priyanka to discuss the UP poll strategy and seat-sharing in case of an alliance.’
The coming together of Priyanka and Dimple could pose a threat to the BJP and BSP alike as the duo is expected to draw a large number of youth. Also, it could be curtains to the ongoing Yadav family feud.
Sources said Priyanka and Dimple are not only drawing the strategy of the Congress-SP alliance, but will also play a key role in campaigning for their respective parties. UP Congress leader Siraj Mehendi said, ‘Along with Rahul Gandhi, we are appealing to the party top brass to send Priyanka as a star campaigner too.
