TIL Desk Lucknow/ The Richmond Fellowship Society (India) Lucknow celebrated its 17th Annual Day function on 16/04/2022 at Shiv Shanti Sant Yashudram Ashram. The Theme of the Conference was ‘Positive Mental Health’ (ldkjkRed ekufld LokLF;) This organization works for Rehabilitation of patients of chronic mental illness and is one of its kind in whole of Central India.
Dr. A. K. Agrawal, Former HOD, Deptt of Psychiatry KGMU and President RFS (I) Lucknow welcomed the guests and gave his presidential address. He emphasized that with proper medication and Rehabilitation person with mental illness can lead a productive and dignified life. Basic mission of our society can improve care of the mentally ill. There are various myths related to mental illness which should be removed by increasing awareness.
Dr. Shashi Rai, secretary of the organization presented the annual report of the centre and gave real life example of how persons with mental illness can improve with proper treatment and rehabilitation. The esteemed speakers Dr. Sitholey former HOD, Deptt. of Psychiatry K.G.M.U. and Vice president RFS(I) Lucknow. Shree Pranshu Mishra, Senior State bureau head, CNN News18 Lucknow. Dr. Sonia Bhatt Vyas Psychologist and motivational speaker and Mr. Ashok Kevlani Yog Guru delibrated on various aspects of Positive Mental Health.
As per WHO health is defined as physical, mental and psychological well being and not mere absence of illness and our aim should be to achieve this. The Chief Guest and guest of honour released the Souvenir and gave their blessings. The clients of Navuday Mansik Swashthya Sansthan presented a vibrant cultural programme. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Alok Saxena, Treasurer RFS(I) Lucknow and Dr. L. K. Maheshwari former V.C. BITS Pilani and Governing Council Member RFS (I). Col. Yadav was the Master of ceremonies and navigated the programme.
