TIL Desk Lucknow/ An NCC Alumni meeting was organized by NCC Group HQ Lucknow for Ex-NCC Cadets at Lucknow. The meeting which was first of its kind, was attended by many prominent NCC Alumni of Lucknow, along with several NCC Cadets, instructors and staff. The NCC Alumni Association has a nationwide objective towards furtherance of aims of NCC and assist in nation-building. Today’s meeting would ensure enhanced contribution of NCC Alumni towards various professional NCC activities, social service & community development and many other national causes, in addition to helping the former and present NCC Cadets of Lucknow region.
It may be recalled that the NCC Alumni Association was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 19th Nov 2021, wherein he was enrolled as the first member of the association. The meeting, conducted on the Gomti River Front, was presided over by Brig Ravi Kapoor, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters and attended by Commanding Officers of NCC Battalions at Lucknow. The meeting was anchored by Captain (IN) Navendu Saxena, CO 3 UP Naval NCC Unit. Ship Modelling Instructor Shirish Dixit, who himself is alumni from 3 UP Naval NCC Unit, Lucknow, addressed the gathering to explain the modalities and procedure to apply for becoming NCC Alumni.
In his welcome address, the Group Commander, emphasized raising awareness about the Alumni association, register maximum NCC cadets on the Alumni Portal and undertake activities in consonance with the stated objectives of NCC. The Commanding Officer of 3 UP Naval NCC unit, Captain (IN) Navendu Saxena, gave a briefing on the Role of NCC Alumni Association and measures for its further expansion. The NCC Alumni Association is expected to fulfill a long time aspiration of lakhs of former NCC cadets, many of whom have made the nation proud by their achievements in diverse fields-be it Armed forces, Politics, Industry, Bureaucracy, Sports or Academics, to connect with each other on a common platform and contribute in every possible way.
The NCC Alumni Association will be committed to inculcate the values of national unity and selfless service amongst youth; and help create a large pool of committed citizens. This meeting is expected to bring together many NCC alumni on a single platform, who can join hands to contribute towards nation-building. During his interaction, the Group Commander urged all Ex-NCC Cadets to make it a credible and worthy platform for all former and present NCC cadets. In the end, Captain (IN) Navendu Saxena, delivered a Vote of Thanks to express his gratitude towards all the attendees and those who made the event a success.
