A large Number of NCC Cadets And Staff of NCC Battalions Performed YOGA on 8th International Yoga Day

TIL Desk Lucknow/ The camp of 500 Girls cadets of 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC is going on in AMC Center in Lucknow Cantonment. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, NCC cadets practiced yoga at AMC Centre. In this yoga exercise, apart from 500 NCC cadets participating in the camp, 350 cadets and NCC alumni from other schools/colleges came and practiced yoga. Apart from these cadets, 15 Associate NCC officers along with 28 staff of the battalion also practiced yoga. The program was conducted by Lt. Dr. Sarita Singh, Assistant Professor of Avadh Girls Degree College Lucknow and Associate Officer of NCC. Senior GCI Vinita Srivastava supported him very well in making this yoga practice a success. In this yoga exercise, 15 Girls cadets of junior wing from Red Rose School did their own yoga practice.

International Day of Yoga Celebrated by 63 & 64 UP NCC Battalions at Lucknow University. In keeping with the highest customs and traditions of the nation, International Day of Yoga was celebrated with full fervor in an event jointly organized by 63 & 64 UP Battalions of NCC at the Shivaji ground in Lucknow University Campus.

The yoga practice session which started at 0600 hours was attended by a large number of NCC cadets. The event was graced by the VC of Lucknow University as also the Commanding Officers and staff members of both the NCC Battalions. The event was conducted by Mr Veer, a qualified Yoga Guru from ‘Art of Living’. All the participants performed Yoga with zeal and devotion. Yoga’s effect on the body and mind was well impressed upon those present including the cadets who are the future of the nation. The cadets were ready to adopt Yoga as part of their daily routine for a healthy lifestyle. The participants were informed that Yoga also needs to be embraced as a means for natural healing and preventative therapies against common ailments. The event culminated with a rendition of the NCC song and cheers of Bharat Mata ki Jai.

International Day of Yoga was also celebrated by 20 UP Girls Battalion NCC and 67 NCC Battalion Lucknow. Professor Sanjay Singh, Professor S Victor Babu, Commanding Officer of 20 UP Girl Battalion Col Vinod Joshi, Administrative Officer Major Praveen Kumari, Subedar Major Bahadur Rana and about 350 NCC cadets were present and participated in the proceedings.

The International Day of Yoga was celebrated by 3 UP Naval Unit, NCC Group HQ Lucknow by conducting yoga sessions on Gomti Riverfront, Khatu Shyam Mandir, LaMartiniere college and also on the Whaler Boats in the River. The Yoga sessions included a total of 600 cadets, NCC alumni, Naval combatant sailors & civilian staff; all of whom participated enthusiastically and encouraged everyone to practice yoga for bolstering health and immunity. The Chief Navy Instructor RC Yadav, a yoga teacher himself, led the session and exhorted all cadets to make Yoga a part of their daily lives. Simple and easy to do asanas were demonstrated, which were practiced by the participants in the true spirit of Yoga Day. These included standing and sitting yoga postures, pranayama breathing techniques followed by meditation. To spread awareness of yoga, banners with the themes along with the International Day of Yoga logo were displayed to raise awareness and encourage citizens to take up Yoga.
