TIL Desk Lucknow/ Ms. Bachendri Pal and members of the ‘Fit@50 plus Trans Himalayan Expedition’ delivered a motivational talk at BBAU, Lucknow on 6 Aug, 2022. The expedition covered 4841 km in 140 days across 35 high mtn passes supported Tata Sports Club.
Approx 500 NCC cadets of Lucknow NCC Group Headquarters attended the event. Col Gaurav Karki and others gave the introductory speeches followed by talks by each of the 11 woman members of the team. Ms Bachendri Pal, who led the team, gave an inspiring talk highlighting her rise from a poor, rural area of Uttarakhand to become the first Indian woman (and fifth in the world) to climb Mount Everest in 1984.
Ms. Pal is continuing her active, dynamic life till her present age of 68.The cadets were highly motivated to hear and interact with the team. At the end of the event, medallions were presented on behalf of UP NCC Directorate Lucknow to the team.
