TIL Desk/National/Chennai/ The Income Tax department has raided Tamil Nadu government Chief Secretary Ram Mohan Rao’s residence at Anna Nagar in Chennai on Wednesday.
Simultaneously, searches were conducted at the residence of Ram Mohan Rao’s son and other locations. Mr. Ram Mohan Rao was appointed Chief Secretary in June this year.
Income Tax officials raids began at the chief secretary’s residence in Anna Nagar at 5.30am. More than 20 officials from the IT investigation wing are conducting the raids at his house.
Income tax officials seized Rs 136 crore in old and new currency notes and gold worth Rs 177 crore from the duo. CBI and Enforcement Directorate registered cases against Shekhar Reddy and others for alleged money laundering.
