A Fusion of Traditional Resham and Khadi with Modern Designs

Designers’ Skills and Models’ Presentations Created a Mesmerising Environment

TIL Desk Lucknow/ Shri Ram is an embodiment of peoples’ faith, Khadi, a thought, and Resham, a sensation” All these come together in a beautiful confluence on the stage through a fashion show that was more than just a presentation; it was a display of embodied tradition, spirituality, and soul.

The ‘Resham and Khadi’ fashion show took place on Tuesday, November 3rd, as part of the Uttar Pradesh State Mega Expo, initiated at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The show not only showcased a stunning array of clothing but also featured models walking the catwalk to serene music, with a touch that evoked a portrayal of Lord Rama’s pious presence in Ayodhya.

Accompanying the fashion show was the renowned humorist Sarvesh Asthana, who entertained the audience with his wit and humour. The fashion show featured creations by well-known designers from Lucknow, including Asma Husain and Aditi Jaggi Rastogi, with their clothing designs presented by famous models.

The event’s chief guest was Rakesh Sachan, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom, and Textile Department of Uttar Pradesh. Special guests included Namrata Pathak, the wife of the Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, popular folk singer Malini Avasthi, Dr. Gaurang Majumdar, and Dr. Aditya Kapoor, Prerana Kapoor, and Itishree Mishra from SGPGI.

The fashion show was directed by Lokesh Sharma. Present at the event were Sunil Kumar Varma, Special Secretary and Director of the Uttar Pradesh Handloom Department, and Ramesh Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Department.
