Priyanka sends emissary to UP CM Akhilesh Yadav

TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ As fight over seats torpedos the proposed alliance between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, Priyanka Gandhi jumped in and sent a personal emissary to UP CM Akhilesh Yadav.

The bid to salvage the situation came after SP released two lists of candidates in which they named SP candidates for seats that were currently being held by Congress members.

One of the seats was in Rae Bareli, the bastion of the Congress.

Sources said the emissary was waiting for a call from the UP CM and that he was housed in a hotel in Lucknow. Earlier, the Congress admitted that there was a breakdown in talks and that they were trying to resolve the issue.
