Raag Prabhat – Kathak Nritya Bhumi and Rachana Prabhat Productions organized ‘NavPrabhat’, a kathak event at Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lucknow

The event was organized to conclude the 3-weeks kathak workshop organized by Raag Prabhat at Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lucknow .

TIL Desk Lucknow:👉Raag Prabhat – Kathak Nritya Bhumi and Rachana Prabhat Productions organized a kathak event at the Valmiki Rangshala Auditorium, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lucknow. The event was organized by Raag Prabhat – Kathak Nritya Bhumi (management head Ms. Vanya Bharadwaj), and was hosted by Ms. Gauri Bharadwaj to conclude their 3-week kathak workshop held from 01 June 2024 – 21 June 2024. The event was directed and choreographed by Ms. Riny Bharadwaj, a kathak artist and the director of Raag Prabhat – Kathak Nritya Bhumi.

The event started around 05:30 pm with the lightning of the lamp by the chief guests Mr. Justice Ashok Kumar, President of State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Uttar Pradesh, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Attau Rahman Masoodi, Senior Judge, High Court, Lucknow Bench and Dr. Shobhit Nahar, director of Sangeet Natak Akademi, along with Mrs. Rachana Prabhat, director of Rachana Prabhat Productions, and Ms. Riny Bharadwaj, the director Raag Prabhat – Kathak Nritya Bhumi.

The event showcased 9 performances by the students of the workshop on various semi-classical songs like Dilruba, Albela Sajan, Sakal Ban, and so on. The event concluded with a special kathak performance by their mentor, Ms. Riny Bharadwaj who started her performance with the Krishna Vandana, Varnat Chhabi followed by the Darbari Tarana composed by the exponent of the Lucknow Kalka Bindadin Gharana of Kathak Pt. Birju Maharaj. All the performances were choreographed by Ms. Riny Bharadwaj.

The event started with the Guru Vandana followed by showcasing the different aspects of kathak learned during the workshop by the students. The concluding kathak performance was by Ms. Riny Bharadwaj, a professional kathak dancer and kathak teacher. The performances of the day were followed by a keynote by Ms. Riny Bharadwaj where she shared her experience and knowledge of the kathak dance as well as the workshop. The event concluded with thank you notes from the chief guests where they shared their experience of the event followed by certificate distribution.
