India Pesticides Limited- Samadhan Abhiyaan book: 'सतर्क रहें सुरक्षित रहें' unveiled

TIL Desk Lucknow:👉Sandeep Singh Education Minister (Basic Shiksha) of Uttar Pradesh, on 17 Aug 2024 launched the book‘सतर्क रहें सुरक्षित रहें’ published by India Pesticides Limited and Samadhan Abhiyan under the project “Chuppi Tod- Halla Bol”.  Along with this POCSO  module and material specially created for visually impaired children which is a combined initiative of India Pesticides Limited, Samadhan Abhiyan NGO and National Association for the blind.

‘Satark Rahe Surakshit Rahe’ book impart knowledge on the prevention of child sexual abuse and information about the POCSO Act for children , parents and teachers in the form of riddles, songs games for better understanding.

The Minister praised the initiative of India Pesticides Limited stating that this book will play a significant role in raising awareness about child sexual abuse and enhancing the safety of visually impaired children.  

Archana Agnihotri, Founder, Samadhan Abhiyan said, “The main inspiration for writing this book was Ramakrishnan Subromaniam, Head of ESG and CSR, India Pesticides, who inspired us to write a book for children on this topic. Apart from this, Aakriti, President of Just Learn looking at our content suggested us to write a book on it. This book provides detailed information on how to protect children from various types of threats, such as physical, mental, and sexual abuse. This book uses simple, age-appropriate language and relatable examples to help children understand. Empowering kids to take control of their well – being,  this book teaches valuable lessons on cultivating a safe and aware lifestyle. So that more children can be made aware. Recognizing that our reach has limits, but children’s presence knows no bounds, we made it our mission to safeguard as many young lives as possible. When a child is empowered with the knowledge of staying safe, they will establish a strong society. Empowered to speak out against injustice, these children will no longer suffer in silence, but will find their voice and boldly confront wrongdoing, which is also the name of our project: Chuppi Tod – Halla Bol.”

The inspiration to design a book full of cartoons providing knowledge on POCSO Act for children came during India Pesticides Limited’s CSR project – “Chuppi Tod; Hall Bol”. By incorporating this book in children’s curriculum, teachers and students can swiftly and effectively disseminate vital information about recognizing and preventing unsafe touching. 

The CSR Head of IPL introduced us to the National Association for the Blind, Lucknow, whose contribution and collaboration has been invaluable in developing the POCSO training module for the visually impaired for the first time in India.

The event was attended by many prominent dignitaries and guests, including Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh, Dr. Amita Dubey (Vice President, National Association for the Blind), Ramakrishnan Subromaniam (Head of ESG & CSR), and Aakriti. Chaudhary (President, Just Learn), Archana Agnihotri, Founder of Samadhan Abhiyan, Sheelam Bajpai and Sumya Dwivedi (Director, Samadhan Abhiyan).

It is the effort of the Ministry of Education to teach children about prevention of child sexual abuse under the National Education Policy. Utilising age-appropriate language and terminology, this book empowers children with a clear understanding of vital safety concepts, underscoring the Ministry’s dedication to fostering a secure and nurturing environment for young minds. Samadhan Abhiyan believes that every child has the right to be safe from sexual harassment. Despite the digital age, printed books remain the most effective medium for impactful learning, and this initiative showcases Samadhan Abhiyaan’s dedication to child safety and education, ensuring every child can thrive in a secure and nurturing environment.
