TIL Desk Lucknow:👉 The students of Amity Institute of Pharmacy, AUUP Lucknow Campus, successfully organised and participated in a Plantation Drive to raise awareness about the therapeutic benefits of frequently found plants. This project not only complemented their academic curriculum, but also emphasised the need of environmental protection in healthcare.
This planter campaign was also organised in memory of Ratan Tata, whose spirit of creativity and charity sowed the seeds of development throughout the globe; may this tree serve as a living legacy. As his memory continues to expand and inspire, may this plant thrive, reminding us of his lasting effect and the bright future he imagined.
The ceremony was attended by the Honourable Head of the Institution, Dr. Anuradha Mishra, who actively encouraged and supported the students during the campaign. Faculty members and students worked together to showcase Amity University’s attitude of unity and cooperation.
The Plantation Drive was primarily focused on producing medicinal plants featured in the pharmacy curriculum, such as Aparajita (Clitoria ternatea), which has a variety of health advantages, including the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, and other illnesses. This hands-on experience taught students not only how to use medicinal herbs in practice, but also how important they are in both traditional and contemporary medicine.
In addition to the academic focus, the initiative emphasised Amity University’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability. The event acted as a reminder of plants’ critical role in human health and well-being, instilling a feeling of responsibility and awareness among future healthcare workers.
Dr. Silpi Chanda, Professor, and Dr. Mohammad Yasir, Assistant Professor from Amity University, meticulously planned the program. Their leadership assured the success of the drive, which was both educational and ecologically aware.
The involvement of both students and staff demonstrated the importance of collaboration, dedication, and a shared goal to improving health via nature. This Plantation Drive exemplifies how educational institutions may combine study and community service to provide students with an engaging experience that includes knowledge, environmental stewardship, and healthcare innovation.
