TIL Desk/National/Chennai/ Edapadi Palanisami to be sworn in as Tamil Nadu CM. Governor Vidyasagar Rao has invited Sasikala-nominee Palanisami to form the government and has given him 15 days to prove his majority. This camp has claimed the support of 124 MLAs. Reports say the governor has gone by numbers and not public sentiment, which is against the Palanisami camp. The swearing-in could happen any time today, but after 3:15 pm which is when the auspicious period begins.
In other contradict situation AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala, who is now known as prisoner number 9324 slept on the floor of her prison cell at Bengaluru Central jail. She reached jail yesterday evening after a rebuke from the Supreme Court over her tardiness in surrendering to the court after she was convicted on Tuesday.
The 61-year-old chief of Tamil Nadu’s ruling AIADMK is sharing a cell with two other women, one of them her sister-in-law Ilavarasi, who was also convicted by the Supreme Court in the same disproportionate assets case.
