TIL Desk Lucknow:👉 Students of Diploma in Sanitation of King George Medical College (KGMU) made an educational visit to Daulatganj STP plant. The team of Suez India, which is operating this STP plant under the One City One Operator scheme, gave practical information to the students about urban water management and sewage treatment processes.
Information about sewage treatment given to the students
The plant in-charge of Suez India and his team gave the students a detailed tour of the plant. Explaining the functioning of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), the experts said that here dirty water is converted into useful water, which promotes environmental protection. During this, the role of STP in water recycling and urban development was also discussed in detail.
Students’ enthusiasm shown in cleanliness survey
After the tour, a lot of enthusiasm was seen among the students regarding Swachhta Survey 2024. All the students of KGMU filled the feedback form to make Lucknow number 1 and also appealed to the citizens to participate in it.
Unity is necessary for clean Lucknow
KGMU teacher Shivangam Giri praised this initiative and said, “Lucknow Municipal Corporation is working hard to keep the entire city clean. Being a responsible citizen, it is our duty to give feedback to get our city the top position in the Swachh Survey. This will not only bring pride to Lucknow but the hard work of Safai Mitras will also pay off.”
Suez India Project Director Rajesh Mathpal said that under the Direction of Lucknow city Mayor Mrs. Sushma Kharkwal, the citizens are trying to make Lucknow number 1. Mr. Mathpal praised the contribution of the students. He said, “The youth of the city is serious about cleanliness. Keeping the city clean is not only the responsibility of the administration, but the participation of citizens is also equally important. Only through joint efforts can we make Lucknow a clean and healthy city.”
