TIL Desk/National/Lucknow/ Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit president Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thursday took a dig at Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati for claiming that EVMs were tampered during UP Assembly polls. Speaking to the media Maurya said, “I don’t care if Mayawati goes to court, but before that, she should visit a hospital to get herself treated well, she needs a break.”
Maurya’s comments come after the BSP supremo suffered a huge defeat in the recently concluded UP elections and alleged tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs),
Terming the Uttar Pradesh election results as “very surprising”, Mayawati said, “The reports I got have raised the suspicion that the voting machines have been managed… It appears that voting machines have not registered votes cast in favour of other parties, or all the votes have been polled for the BJP. Even Muslim votes have gone to the BJP.”
The support extended by different Muslim organisations and clerics to the Mayawati-led BSP on the eve of assembly polls did not pay off for the party, which could pocket only 19 seats, one of its worst ever performance.
