- 17-year-old Pranamya Shukla, a.k.a. ‘Artemis,’ blends technology, creativity, and compassion to redefine innovation
TIL Desk Lucknow:
Lucknow’s elegance has always resonated through its culture, language, and art. Today, that rhythm beats to a new tune — innovation. Standing at the heart of this evolution is 17-year-old Pranamya Shukla, known globally in the music world as ‘Artemis’ — a name now synonymous with youthful genius and heartfelt creativity.
A Class 12 student, Pranamya has already achieved what many can only dream of. He cleared the UPSC NDA II written examination in his very first attempt, showcasing discipline, focus, and determination. Yet, his passion extends far beyond academics — his journey lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, music, and human emotion.
To democratize music creation, Pranamya developed Mixr.08, an AI-powered music tool that enables budding, under-resourced artists to create studio-quality sound with limited equipment.
“For me, music is freedom,” he says. “Mixr.08 ensures that creativity isn’t limited by access to technology. Every artist, regardless of means, deserves a chance to express themselves through sound.”
Through Mixr.08, he envisions a world where music belongs to all — not just to those who can afford expensive tools, but to anyone with emotion and imagination.
Pranamya’s compassion extends beyond youth innovation. Deeply moved by the loneliness of older generations, he created AUM, a mindfulness and wellness app designed to bring peace and nostalgia to senior citizens.
“Our elders often miss their golden days,” he reflects. “AUM lets them relive that serenity through the calming tones of ancient Indian instruments. I just want them to be happier and healthier.”
The app blends neuroscience and sound, allowing users to experience relaxation and emotional connection through traditional melodies — an embodiment of technology guided by empathy.
Equally fluent in technology and creativity, Pranamya is proficient in Ableton Live, FL Studio, BandLab, and Audacity. His compositions have been featured on international platforms such as Rolling Stone, Premise, and Desi Renaissance, earning praise for their originality and depth.
Through his YouTube channel, Sound For All, he offers free STEM and music production lessons for young learners worldwide. On Medium and LinkedIn, he writes thoughtful essays exploring how science, art, and youth education can intersect to create social change.
His work has not only inspired aspiring musicians but also positioned him as a role model for self-taught creators who see technology as a tool for expression, not limitation.
Beyond screens and software, Pranamya’s heart remains grounded in service. He volunteers at Aastha Resort (Old Age Home) and Shri Ram Industrial Orphanage (Aliganj), where he teaches children, supports elderly residents, and promotes mindfulness through music and learning.
“Science and music are meaningful only when they bring peace and joy into someone’s life,” he says — a philosophy that reflects in everything he builds.
A school topper, multilingual learner, and Olympiad participant, Pranamya has excelled in national and international competitions including the Breakthrough Junior Challenge, Spell Bee, and essay contests.
He founded his school’s Music and Mathematics Clubs, whose student band now performs at city events. Recently, he was honored as the ‘Best Delegate’ at IIMUN 2025, recognizing his leadership and communication excellence.
Despite living in multiple cities, Pranamya remains deeply rooted in Lucknow.
“Wherever I go, the rhythm of Lucknow follows me — the patience of its people, the poetry of its culture, and the humility of its art define who I am,” he says with quiet pride.
Pranamya Shukla represents a generation that believes innovation must have empathy and creativity must have purpose. With the intellect of a scientist and the soul of a musician, he stands as a symbol of the youth who bridge imagination with impact.
In a world racing toward automation, he reminds us that technology gains meaning only when guided by humanity.
