Rahul questions silence of PM Modi on Rafale deal

TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on the contentious Rafale fighter jets deal and the allegations of financial irregularities against BJP chief Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah.

The Gandhi scion’s prickly observation follows a fierce fusillade aimed at the Congress by PM Modi during a host of rallies in poll-bound Gujarat, alleging that the party “celebrated” the release of Pakistani terrorist and 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed. The Prime Minister also slammed Rahul for embracing the Chinese ambassador during the tense Doklam standoff and questioning the veracity of the Army’s surgical strike on terror bases in Pakistan last year.

Keeping up his attack against the ruling BJP ahead of the high stakes Gujarat assembly polls, Rahul took to Twitter to ruminate why the Prime Minister chose to remain mum on these two controversial matters that have sparked a war of words between the government and the opposition.”A frown on his face, sweat on his brow Saheb appears to be scared Why are his lips sealed when questions are raised on Shahzada and Rafale,” Rahul tweeted on Monday night.
