TIL Desk/World/Islamabad/ Pakistan will allow former Indian naval officer Kulbhushan Jadhav’s family to meet him on December 25. An official from the Indian high commission will also accompany the family when they visit Jadhav, who has been languishing in a jail in Pakistan for 21 months. Jadhav’s wife and mother will be meeting him.
A military court in Pakistan had in April this year sentenced Jadhav to death on the charge of his alleged involvement in espionage and terror attacks. India strongly denied the allegation. The International Court of Justice has stayed Jadhav’s execution.
In May this year, India moved the International Court of Justice against the death sentence without giving him a fair trial. The world court had, on May 18, restrained Pakistan from executing the death sentence. The case is expected to be heard in early January.
