TIL Desk/World/Lahore-Thirty members of an organisation headed by Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed comprising doctors and paramedical staff today applied for Indian visas to treat the injured in Kashmir. The team of 30 doctors and paramedical staff of ‘Muslim Medical Mission’ (of the Jamaat-ud-Dawah) applied for visa through on-line and courier, Ahmed Nadeem, a member of the JuD media team, said.
“The applicants have taken a plea in the visa application that they want to go to Kashmir to treat the people injured in clashes with the Indian Army ‘on humanitarian ground’, Nadeem said. The 30-member team includes 15 doctors and eye specialists who will treat people suffering from eye injuries there, Nadeem said.
Talking to reporters after applying for the Indian visa, MMM chief coordinator Nasir Hamdani said, “the sole purpose of the medical team is to provide treatment to the injured Kashmiris.” “We want to go to Indian Kashmir purely on humanitarian ground,” he said, adding the MMM would ask the UN and the Pakistani government to help it in getting Indian visa. Meanwhile, the Indian embassy in Islamabad did not allow the JuD medical team to enter the mission’s premises.
