Now Priyanka would head the UP election Campaign

TIL Desk/National/UP-With the Congress President Sonia Gandhi, undergoing treatment at a private hospital for the last nine days after taking ill during a roadshow in Varanasi, her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, is now playing the de facto leader’s rule for the party and now initiating campaigns for the upcoming 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

According to reports, senior Congress leaders on Thursday confirmed that the party has prepared a list of about 100 candidates for the polls, of which most of the names have been cleared by Priyanka.

Congress had in early July confirmed that Priyanka would head the election campaign in the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh. The party, which had initially planned to hit the streets for poll campaigning after Eid, now wants their de facto leader to begin the campaign trail by October. Out of 403 assembly constituencies, Priyanka is likely to focus on 150 seats initially.
