TIL Desk/National/New Delhi-All-party meeting on Kashmir chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun inside the Parliament House. The opposition wants the government to detail a political road map to resolve the crisis in Kashmir.
The meeting has been called to find a solution to the cycle of violence in Kashmir, where at least 60 people have died and thousands injured following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8. Before both houses were adjourned ahead the all-party meeting, the Lok Sabha passed a resolution to “restore the confidence of the people and youth of Kashmir”.
Friday being the last day of the monsoon session of Parliament, most of the political parties are of the opinion that the government should start a dialogue process with the people of Kashmir Valley and send an all-party delegation to hold talks with people of the state. NDA leaders have assured both the houses of Parliament that the government will speak to chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and prepare a ground for an all-party delegation to Jammu and Kashmir.
