TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ There may be six assembly polls held along with the Lok Sabha polls this year, a top BJP source in New Delhi. The three BJP-ruled states of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharasthra have almost made up their mind to dissolve their assemblies and call elections in March 2019.
The other three states which are due for polls are Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP Chief Amit Shah are to take a final call on the matter on Thursday when their weekly meetings take place at the Prime Minister’s residence. Meanwhile, despite the unceasing offensive from the Shiv Sena, the party alliance with the BJP is intact.
A phone call from Sena president Uddhav Thackrey to Amit Shah is being talked about in the NDA. In fact, the BJP headquarters in New Delhi is enthusiastic about the BJP agreeing to allot two more seats to the Shiv Sena in Lok Sabha. The credit for the successful negotiations lie with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, a a senior BJP leader, said.
