TIL Desk/National/New Delhi-All India Radio will now also broadcast in the Baloch language. Taking forward India’s concern for the Baloch people, the union cabinet has decided to broadcast a news bulletin in the ‘Balochi’ language, particularly for the people living in Balochistan province of Pakistan and other areas.
The External Services division of All India Radio is shortly going to start the exclusive news bulletin. Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Independence Day speech this year, brought up Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The reference to Pakistan’s troubled states, for perhaps the first time in an Independence Day Speech, represents a significant shift in Indian messaging and a clear attempt to push back against the Pakistan prime minister’s references to Indian Kashmir of late.
