TIL Desk Bollywood/ After much controversy and protests, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil finally releases on its scheduled Diwali weekend date. After being threatened for weeks by MNS workers, the Mumbai Police has assured security to every multiplex in the city.
The film ran into controversy after Uri Attacks, when MNS issued a leave- ultimatum of 48 hours to every Pakistani artists. As the film stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, it became the first one to be attacked by the party. However, with the support of the Producers guild and the government, the makers were successful in getting their scheduled release post meeting MNS chief Raj Thackeray.
The industry openly supported Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, after news of its peaceful release came out. Directed by Karan Johar, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai in key roles with a cameo appearance of Fawad Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
