PM Modi holds meet to review Ayodhya projects

TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a virtual meet with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to review development projects in Ayodhya. This is their second meeting this month; earlier this month, the Chief Minister was in the national capital for meetings with PM Modi and top BJP leaders, including Amit Shah and party chief JP Nadda amid reports of dissent in the party in his state.

During today’s meeting, Yodi Adityanath presented plans for Ayodhya’s development, including better roads, infrastructure, a railway station and an airport. In February, Yogi Adityanath said that the state government’s proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya has been approved by the centre.

“The UP government’s proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya has been approved by the centre. About Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated to the district administration by the state government. The central government has disbursed Rs 250 crore,” he had said. The meeting between the PM and the CM took place days after allegations emerged against the Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust of an illicit land deal.
