TIL Desk Lucknow:ЁЯСЙ On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi/Navratri Special, the "New Craft Silk India Exhibition 2026" was inaugurated at the Safed Baradari in Kaiserbagh. The exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Guest Namrata Pathak, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak. As part of the Sankalp Seva Abhiyan, running from September 17th to October 17th, the New Craft India family celebrated the birthday of the world's most popular leader and respected Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, with a cake-cutting ceremony. Present on the occasion were Ankur Gupta, Shakti Bajpai, Founder/President of Ratnagiri Seva Sansthan, several dignitaries from the city, and a large number of buyers.
The exhibition showcased a magnificent collection of ethnic and traditional silk and cotton handloom products crafted by over eighty master weavers from various states of the country. Traditional textiles such as Banarasi, Chanderi, Kanjeevaram, and Tussar silk were on display. Attractive garments in modern designs are also available. Kashmiri pure crepe sarees, Pure Silk Mark approved sarees, and several exclusive handloom products are also highlights of the exhibition.
Visitors praised the quality, design, and variety of the textiles available. The exhibition showcases a beautiful blend of traditional crafts and modern fashion, which is particularly appealing to fashion lovers and traditional clothing enthusiasts.
Organizers Manas Acharya and Javed Maqsood stated that the primary objective of this event is to provide a strong platform for the country's weavers and introduce them to the rich tradition of Indian silk and handloom. They added that such events provide weavers with the opportunity to sell their products directly to customers and also promote the Indian handloom industry.
The organizers have appealed to city residents to visit the exhibition to witness the skills of the country's skilled weavers and promote Indian silk and handloom products. The exhibition will be open to the public for the next ten days. Entry is free. Lucknow Residents are requested to come and avail the benefits by purchasing directly from the weavers.
