TIL Desk Lucknow:👉Odomos, a leading personal application mosquito repellent brand in India, has launched a nationwide awareness campaign, ‘Dengue Mukt Bharat’, aimed at educating people about dengue prevention and the risks posed by mosquitoes that are active during the daytime.
The campaign seeks to encourage communities to adopt preventive measures against mosquito-borne diseases, particularly during the monsoon season. Through school outreach programmes and community awareness activities, the initiative will focus on promoting daily protection habits and improving public understanding of dengue prevention.
The campaign was launched with a special awareness session at Bal Nikunj Inter College, Mohibullapur branch in Lucknow, where more than 300 students participated. The session was conducted by Dr Rajan Verma from Shrirayu Joint Care. Vyasa Anand, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Dabur India Limited, the college's Managing Director H.N. Jaiswal and Principal Bhagwati Bhandari were also present.
Addressing the students, Dr Verma said that dengue prevention begins with awareness and consistent protective measures. He highlighted that the Aedes aegypti mosquito, responsible for spreading dengue, is active during the day, putting people at risk not only outdoors but also while travelling, attending school and participating in routine public activities.
Speaking about the initiative, Vaibhav Rathi, Marketing Head, Home Care, Dabur India Limited, said dengue continues to remain a major public health challenge in India, while awareness about day-active dengue mosquitoes is still limited. He said the ‘Dengue Mukt Bharat’ campaign aims to extend the brand's commitment beyond product-based protection by encouraging greater public awareness and preventive action.
Amit Garg, General Manager, Marketing, Dabur India Limited, said one of the biggest misconceptions is that protection from mosquitoes is required only at night. He stressed the importance of making mosquito protection a part of everyday routines.
The nationwide initiative is part of Odomos' continued efforts to promote awareness and help families protect themselves against dengue, malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases.
