* Evaluation Conducted on Plant Efficiency, Treated Water Quality, and Operational Systems
TIL Desk Lucknow:ЁЯСЙ With the objective of ensuring the efficiency and operational quality of sewage treatment plants (STPs) under the AMRUT 2.0 mission, a team from the Quality Council of India (QCI) visited the 56 MLD Daulatganj Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Lucknow. In the presence of the operational team from Suez India, various aspects—including the plant’s operational framework, the sewage treatment process, and the quality of the treated water—were inspected and evaluated.
The purpose of this inspection was to verify whether the STP is operating effectively and in compliance with established standards. The evaluation focused on key parameters such as the plant’s actual treatment capacity, the condition of inlet and outlet systems, water quality, machinery operation, online monitoring systems, and sludge management.
Under AMRUT 2.0, significant emphasis is placed on water conservation, sewerage management, and the reuse of treated water. Consequently, the evaluation of the STP helps determine whether the treated water meets the prescribed quality standards and identifies potential applications for its reuse.
Under the 'Jal Hi Amrit' initiative, a system has been established to provide star ratings and incentives based on the performance of STPs.
As part of its responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the Daulatganj STP, the Suez India team ensures the effective functioning of the plant’s routine operations, technical systems, and treatment processes. This visit by the QCI is significant for conducting an independent assessment of the plant's performance and for further enhancing the quality of sewage treatment.
