Contestants of ‘India’s Laughter Champion’ visit the ‘City of Nawabs’ Lucknow

TIL Desk Entertainment/ Sony Entertainment Television is set to send across waves of laughter to the audience with brand new show, ‘India’s Laughter Champion’! Unveiling a mixed range of stand-up acts from across the country and age groups, viewers will see various types of comedy acts where each contestant will present their best gags with an ultimate aim to win the coveted title of ‘India’s Laughter Champion.’ Produced by Banijay Asia and SKTV, India’s Laughter Champion will premiere on 11th June and will air every Saturday & Sunday at 9:30 PM only on Sony Entertainment Television! Hosted by the gorgeous Rochelle Rao, the show will be judged by the ‘Hasi Ke Surma,’ Shekhar Suman, and Archana Puran Singh.

A comedy show with ‘variety’ being the key factor, India’s Laughter Champion has something for everyone. The competitive reality show will present viewers with a varied choice of comedy right from stand-up to mimicry to skits, poetry, and, more! Giving a glimpse behind the curtain, contestants Abhay Kumar Sharma from Varanasi, Hemant Pandey from Kanpur, and Shambhu Shikhar from Bihar visited Lucknow on 6th June of what India’s Laughter Champion has to offer!

In the quest of finding this season’s India’s Laughter Champion, the show will kickstart with the Qualifier round, followed by the Wildcard Round, and then move towards the Quarter Final. Further into the show, the Semi-Final round will see the selected contestants put their best punch forward to secure their place as finalists, and finally, the Finale will see the finalists compete to win the coveted title of ‘India’s Laughter Champion!’

Along with good competition and unlimited laughter every weekend, the show will also see several notable celebrity guests join the judges panel as the ‘Comedy ke Sarpanch’ and add on to the verdict of the judges. All in all, India’s Laughter Champion is a ‘Must-Watch’ on the weekends. It’s an amazing feeling being a part of a prestigious show like India’s Laughter Champion. I have always been a comic at heart and my performance on stage as an artist shows the audience how much I love this genre. Belonging to Kanpur and visiting Lucknow is like a homecoming for me and both the cities are practically neighbors in Uttar Pradesh. I have actively been a part of the comedy scene in India and, even though I have experience of performing live, coming on India’s Laughter Champion gives me immense happiness Being a Bihari and a ‘Shayar’ at heart, I try to mix my two art forms, poetry & comedy. This allows me to give a unique twist to the words I utter, not only making my audience laugh but also happy at heart.

I am elated to be coming to the ‘City of Nawabs’, Lucknow as part of India’s Laughter Champion. What better an identity than to say that you are a contestant on one of the most awaited comedy shows on Indian television? I am visually impaired and thank God not humorously impaired which has given me the chance to come before such esteemed judges like Archana Puran Singh ji and Shekhar Suman ji and present my comedy before them. I am grateful for this opportunity and will make the most of it, that is a promise. I hope I can make Lucknow laugh along with me and give them a few moments of happy bliss.
