Lt Gen. Gurbirpal Singh Director General (DG) NCC on Two Day Visit Lucknow

TIL Desk Lucknow/ Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM, DG NCC visited UP NCC Directorate Lucknow from 20 Mar 2023 to 21 Mar 2023. Maj Gen Sanjay Puri, VSM, ADG, UP NCC Directorate, Lucknow apprised him about the progress of NCC in the State of Uttar Pradesh. DG praised NCC Directorate Uttar Pradesh for successfully undertaking Social Service and Community Development (SSCD) activities to include cleaning of water bodies under Puneet Sangar Abhiyan and honoring NOK of bravehearts under Shaheedon Shat Shat Naman programme.

DG NCC met Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Smt Gulab Devi, Minister of State of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh and Chief Secretary to the Govt of Uttar Pradesh Durga Shanker Mishra. During these meetings expansion of NCC in UP was discussed in detail.

During his discussion with the staff of NCC Directorate and Group Commanders on important training and administration related matters the Director General urged the Group Commanders to conduct training, Social Service & Community Development and Ek Bharat Sherestha Bharat activities as per the training directives and ensure development of cadets into responsible citizens.

He facilitated GCI Poonam Kumari of 31 UP (G) Bn NCC, Group Noida, Lt Beenam Saxena of 8 UP (G) Bn NCC, Bareilly, Chief Officer Santosh Kumar Dwivedi of 60 UP Bn NCC, Fatehpur, SUO Mahavir Upadhayay of 44 UP Bn NCC, Gorakhpur & Sgt Reegul Sharma of 1 UP (G) Bn NCC, Agra Permanent Instructors (PI Staff) for their outstanding performance.
