TIL Desk Lucknow:👉A staff development programme was organized by College of Nursing, Command Hospital, Central Command today. The event was held to commemorate International Nurses Day, observed each year on 12 May, on the theme ‘Our Nurses Our Future – The economic power of care’. Maj Gen AA Karmarkar, MG Med, HQ Central Command graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr Ashok Kumar Bishnoi, Dean Nursing, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University was the Guest of Honor and delivered the keynote address. The programme was attended by senior Army Officers, dignitaries from civil institute, faculty and students of various nursing colleges of Lucknow.
Scientific sessions on the theme and an Intercollegiate Quiz were conducted. A panel discussion by senior administrators and nursing leaders on the topic, ‘Will investing in nursing lead to better health outcomes?’ was conducted with an aim to reshape perceptions and discuss methods to invest in nursing for better patient outcomes and benefits to society.
Maj Gen AA Karmarkar, the Chief Guest, underscored the importance of nursing in healthcare, emphasizing its significant contribution. He stated that, now is the opportune moment to advocate for a change in perspective and policy, that the return on investment in nursing for health is invaluable.
