TIL Desk/National/Lucknow/ Lauding the armed forces for carrying out surgical strikes across the LoC, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said, “I am proud of our soldiers. They only conducted the surgical strikes, but also ensured that none of our soldiers is martyred. It was a 100% perfect surgical strike.”
“I think it is a rare thing across the world. Our soldiers are brave and have the power to finish their tasks 100%,” he said, saluting those who lay down their lives in the services of the nation. “I salute martyrdom. But, I always tell martyrs to neutralise terrorists, rather then dieing for the country,” he said. “Defence Minister seedhe saadhe nahi hone chahiye.
Main seedha sochta hu par baat jab desh ki suraksha ki ho, toh main tedha bhi soch sakta hu,” he said. Parrikar went on to add that some ex-servicemen wrote to him, saying that they are ready to fight on the border, if the need arises. “I salute them,” he said.
Days after Indian Army’s surgical strikes across LoC, the state BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit accorded a “warm reception” to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. Parrikar was felicitated for the “successful strike”.
