TIL Desk/National/Noida/ The district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today burnt effigies of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam. Both the leaders had termed the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army in Pak-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) against terrorists as fake.
BJP activists, led by district president of the party Balbir Bagga, marched from the Una municipal park to the old bus stand chowk. They raised slogans against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress leaders. They later burnt the effigies at the bus stand chowk.
Bagga said the two leaders had tried to demoralise the Indian armed forces, adding that a case of treason should be registered against the two.He said the surgical strikes were conducted in the interest of the country and the action described the will power of the country’s leadership in dealing with terrorist and subversive elements.
Bagga said while the Congress party as a whole had supported the strike, some people were trying to gain cheap political mileage on the issue of national concern. He demanded action by the Congress against their MP.
