Serum Institute, Bharat Biotech to begin trials of nasal Covid-19 vaccine

TIL Desk/Business/New Delhi/ The clinical trials of nasal coronavirus vaccine in India are expected to begin soon by Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech, the government said.

The government also informed that the Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech will begin the trials of nasal coronavirus vaccine once they receive regulatory approval.

At present, there is no nasal trial coronavirus vaccine under trial in India. For the trials of the nasal coronavirus vaccine candidate, Bharat Biotech, which is developing an indigenous Covid-19 vaccine in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research, has entered into an agreement with Washington University and St Louis University.

Of the vaccines currently in Phase 3 trials, all are administered by injection, according to the World Health Organization.
