Disney+ Hotstar recently launched their series, Sultan of Delhi which is being widely loved and appreciated by audiences. Based on the book, Sultan of Delhi: Ascension by Arnab Ray, the series is Produced by Reliance Entertainment and Directed by ace Director Milan Luthria, Co-Directed and Co-written by Suparn Verma . To promote the mass-entertainer series, the Director Milan Luthria, along with talented actors Tahir Raj Bhasin, Anjumm Sharma and Anupriya Goenka visited the beautiful city of Nawabs, Lucknow!
Set to take you on a journey where life is at stake and power is all you need to change the game in your favour, Sultan Of Delhi also features Mouni Roy, Vinay Pathak, Nishant Dahiya, Harleen Sethi and Mehreen Pirzada in pivotal roles.
Talking about the series, Director Milan Luthria said, “Sultan Of Delhi has finally released and we have been overwhelmed with the love and positive response that has been coming our way. My team and I have worked very hard on Sultan Of Delhi, as I didn’t want to leave any stone unturned for my first outing on the web. The attempt has been to achieve a clutter breaker, a page turner of sorts. Collaborating with Disney+ Hotstar for my OTT debut was an incredible experience. Coming to Lucknow feels incredible and we hope the people here welcome us with open arms and enjoy the series.”
Talking about the series and his visit to Lucknow, Tahir Raj Bhasin said, “It’s not everyday that you play a typical ‘hero’ who is macho and flamboyant, I was thrilled that this role came my way. Talking about the series, Anjumm Shharma said, “My character went viral on social media as soon as the show released, which showed me the love of the audience for Bangali. He is a fun loving and reckless guy in a dangerous world, but the best part about him is that he is committed and relatable. Collaborating with Disney+ Hotstar and Milan Luthria to create Bangali was a great experience. Visiting Lucknow and engaging with the lovely audience here made me realize that Bangali is so loved because we all are a little like Bangali at heart. Lucknow city has a special place in my heart and I hope all the audiences here love and accept the series with open arms.”
Talking about her role, Anupriya Goenka said, “In Sultan of Delhi, playing Shankari Devi brought out a never seen before avatar of me. She is unabashedly powerful oozing glam and sass in a vintage era. While I absolutely loved my character, I was worried how the audiences would react because they have always seen me in very righteous roles. But the love and appreciation I received, especially from the people in Lucknow made me believe that I could take on anything. I would always be thankful to Milan Sir and Disney+ Hotstar for giving me Shankari Devi. I have grown up in Kanpur and being here in Lucknow today, takes me back to my childhood and makes me nostalgic.
