TIL Desk Bollywood:The much-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster ‘Stree’ is finally here! After a six-year wait, fans are eagerly looking forward to ‘Stree 2,’ a horror-comedy film under the banner of Maddock Films and Jio Studios, set to hit theaters on August 15. The movie stars versatile actor Rajkummar Rao, the charming Shraddha Kapoor, and a talented ensemble cast including Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi.
As part of the film’s promotion, Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and popular Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh visited the historic city of Lucknow, known for its rich culture and hospitality. The actors were greeted with great enthusiasm by fans, who thronged the streets to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. A press conference was also held, where the cast engaged with the media and shared insights into the much-awaited sequel.
Rajkummar Rao, reprising his role as Vicky, teased, “In the first part of ‘Stree,’ the words ‘O Stree Kal Aana’ were written on the walls to ward off the ghost. In the new instalment, you’ll see ‘O Stree Raksha Karna’—it’ll be intriguing to discover why the people of Chanderi now want Stree to protect them. We’re hopeful that, just like the first film, the dialogues and story will resonate with the audience and make a special place in their hearts.”
Shraddha Kapoor, portraying Vicky’s ponytailed girlfriend, added, “This time, the terror of ‘Sarkate’ will add a new dimension to the story. The narrative continues from where the first film left off, blending fear and humor in a way that will keep audiences laughing and captivated. The six-year wait will definitely be worth it!”
Directed by Amar Kaushik, ‘Stree 2’ is penned by Niren Bhatt and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The film’s soundtrack has already started making waves, with the recent release of the dance number ‘Aai Nahi,’ featuring the vocals of Pawan Singh, receiving widespread praise. ‘Stree 2’ is all set to release in theatres nationwide on August 15.
