Rajveer Singh and Aastha Sharma from COLORS’ ‘Neerja… Ek Nayi Pehchaan’ woo Lucknow with their upcoming romantic track

TIL Desk Tellywood/ Raising many questions on socially relevant issues, COLORS’ ‘Neerja… Ek Nayi Pehchaan’ continues to entertain viewers with its gripping tale that takes an eventful turn. Until now, the storyline traced the journey of Protima, a sex worker (essayed by Sneha Wagh), who fights tooth and nail to give her daughter Neerja (portrayed by Aastha Sharma) a decent upbringing in Sonagachi. As life would have it, Abeer, a scion of a wealthy family (played by Rajveer Singh) crosses paths with Neerja and the two are about to get married. Grateful for the appreciation the show has received, actors Aastha and Rajveer visited Lucknow to spread the word about the twists it has in store for viewers. The duo not only spoke about their wedding in ths how but also explored the local markets to shop for the renowned Chikankari clothing and sampled some local delicacies.

In the current track of the show, Abeer aka Rajveer clings to his past love, Trisha, and sees her glimpses in Neerja. Abeer’s father, Bijoy (played by Ayub Khan), comes up with a plan to help his son move on from his pain – he suggests a marriage between Neerja and Abeer. But here’s the twist – it’s not a real marriage, just a pretend one! This clever plan would give Neerja the opportunity to escape her difficult life in Sonagachi. Now, faced with a tough decision, Neerja agrees to marry Abeer because she believes it’s her only way out of Sonagachi. As the story unfolds, we see Neerja trying her best to fit in as Abeer’s wife and find acceptance in society. Will she receive the love and respect she truly deserves in this unusual arrangement?
