TIL Desk Lucknow/ In a significant stride towards bolstering banking services in the state, Shri Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), inaugurated two new branches in Lucknow today. The newly opened branches, located in Alam Bagh and Bhitauli, mark a pivotal moment for IOB’s expansion strategy in Uttar Pradesh.
Shri Srivastava’s visit to Lucknow, his first since assuming leadership, underscores IOB’s commitment to enhancing its presence in the region. Under his astute leadership, IOB has secured a prestigious position among the top 5 public sector banks in terms of market capitalization.
With over 3200 branches nationwide, including 216 branches in Uttar Pradesh, IOB is poised for further expansion. The bank aims to add 100 more branches across the state in the near future, demonstrating its dedication to serving a wider customer base.
IOB’s customer-centric approach is reflected in its innovative schemes such as “Mera Naam Mera Khata” and account portability, designed to provide seamless banking experiences to customers. The inauguration of the Lucknow branches aligns with IOB’s mission to bring its services closer to the people and contribute to the state’s financial inclusion objectives.
In a statement to the press, Shri Sanjay Kishore, Chief Regional Manager, IOB Lucknow Region, affirmed the bank’s commitment to serving the people of Uttar Pradesh and supporting the state’s financial inclusion agenda.
