A Paramotor Expedition has been organised by 50 (Independent) Parachute Brigade Ordnance Field Park, from New Delhi to Secundrabad, to commemorate the dedicated services rendered by the Army Ordnance Corps (AOC) to the nation. The flag off ceremony for the paramotor expedition was held in Lucknow Cantt and was graced by Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C Central Command.
The expedition is a tribute to the enduring spirit, adaptability and strength of the AOC. The expedition is undertaken by a team of two Officers, two Junior Commissioned Officers and five soldiers to cover a distance of 1,974 Kms, navigating through mountains, picturesque valleys and plains, over three states. The Paramotor team has embarked on this historic journey on the momentous occasion of 250th anniversary of AOC, symbolising the unity and resilience of our armed forces.
The chosen route highlights the breath-taking geographical diversity and integrity of our country. The long and arduous journey reflects the unwavering commitment of the Indian Army, honouring the rich tapestry of our nation, promoting the incredible unity of India as a nation.
Besides adding a touch of grandeur to the expedition Lt. Gen Sengupta commended the team members and stated that concerted efforts are being made by the Surya Command to further the ideas of nationalism, patriotism, commitment to national service and encourage the youth to join the Armed Forces. He also praised the services being rendered by all ranks of AOC and commended the high standards of Ordnance logistics support being provided to the Surya Command. The event was marked by the presence of senior Army Officers, veterans and distinguished guests, who motivated the team members and expressed solidarity with the noble cause.
