India Showcases Cultural Heritage in Republic Day

TIL Desk New Delhi/ India is celebrating its 68th Republic Day on Thursday. The nation is awaiting the Republic Day Parade which is scheduled to begin from the Rashtrapati Bhawan at 9:00 am. President Pranab Mukherjee, in his address, on Wednesday evening, wished the countrymen a Happy Republic Day. He also spoke about demonetisation on how the economy has slowed down after the note ban, yet we can get it back together by digital cashless payments. He also said that demonetisation will help the country eradicate corruption and black money.

The Chief Guest this year is UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Nahyan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and an MoU was signed between the two nations.  This year, tableaux from 17 states and six ministries of the Central Government will make their way at the Rajpath. The UAE armed forces will also display their strength for the first time at India’s Republic Day parade.
