'Kaabil' script is hugely sound-oriented: Pookutty

TIL Desk Bollywood/ Academy award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty says the upcoming Hrithik Roshan-starrer “Kaabil” will delve deep into different ways of hearing, and relies heavily on sound. Directed by Sanjay Gupta, “Kaabil” features the “Krrish” star and actress Yami Gautam as a blind couple. The film reportedly chronicles the journey of a blind man who avenges the death of his girlfriend.

Resul says he has been working hard to give the romantic-thriller the perfect sound. “‘Kaabil’ is hugely sound-oriented script. It is the first time in Hindi cinema where we will be analysing ways of hearing. For me that’s a big challenge,” Resul told. “We have done a few test sequences and are fine tuning some of the tests that we are doing on the sound. It is going to be an exciting experience with regards to the sound,” he said.

The 45-year-old sound designer, who worked with Gupta earlier in films like “Musafir” and “Dus Kahaniyaan”, says the filmmaker puts in complete trust in him which makes the job easier. “Sanjay (Gupta) trusts me completely. We have an excellent rapport. He gives the film to me and only comes to watch the final mix. That’s the kind of trust he has, and values me immensely as a colleague.
