PM meets victorious Indian cricket team for blind

TIL Desk Sports/ Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met members of India’s T20 Blind Cricket team which recently won the World Cup and said their deeds are an inspiration for millions of people. “Had a memorable interaction with our champion cricketers, the winners of the T-20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind,” Modi said.

“Inspired by their seniors, most of these cricketers picked up the game in their school days. Today, they are an inspiration to all of us,” he tweeted. While interacting with the team members, the Prime Minister complimented them for their achievements and urged them to do even better in future.

He praised their concentration and special skill, and said their deeds are an inspiration for millions of people, including the Divyang, a PMO statement said. The team members presented to Modi an autographed bat, a ball and a team jersey with the Prime Minister’s name.

The Prime Minister too autographed a bat and a ball for the team. “Best wishes to the entire team that won the T-20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind. Keep playing well and making India proud of your game,” Modi said.
