Aaditya Thackeray files nomination from Worli after roadshow

TIL Desk/National/Mumbai/ Shiv Sena scion Aaditya Thackeray has filed his nomination from the Worli constituency. He is the first Thackeray to contest an election. Worli is a Shiv Sena stronghold and his win will be a shoo-in.  Aditya Thackeray was seen waving to people, against the backdrop of his portraits and saffron Sena pennants held up by workers, as his open top jeep found its way through narrow streets in Mumbai.

The Shiv Sena has been pitching him as the party’s chief ministerial face and the Yuva Sena president while sidestepping the question on whether he would be the next CM of Maharashtra said he hoped to usher in a New Maharashtra.  The young Sena leader began the road show from a Shiv Sena office in Lower Parel and ended it at the BMC Engineering Hub in Worli, where he filed his nomination papers.

Before heading out for the road show, he paid obeisance at his grandfather’s portrait, a shrine of the bedroom occupied by Bal Thackeray at the Thackeray residence.   Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray accompanied Aaditya on the road show and said he was thankful to the people who supported his son.
