TIL Desk/National/Chandigarh-Barely six months before the Punjab Assembly Elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has got into a big controversy. Sucha Singh Chhotepur, convenor of AAP in Punjab, has been caught taking money in a sting operation. The sting video of Sucha Singh Chhotepur was shown to AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal upon his return from Himachal Pradesh. According sources in AAP, the party may remove Chhotepur from his post. Chhotepur might be expelled from the AAP, said sources.
The sting video of Sucha Singh Chhotepur was made by one of the AAP supporters who following verbal complaints that Chhotepur was demanding money for various purposes. An AAP leader from Delhi briefed the media, on the condition of not being named, regrading the video of Chhotepur. The AAP leader said that the party has taken serious note of the entire issue and might take some strict action against Sucha Singh Chhotepur.
“That is one of the reasons why Kejriwal did not meet Chhotepur regarding any change in tickets,” the AAP leader was quoted. Senior AAP leader and deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia confronted Sucha Singh Chhotepur with the sting video. Chhotepur has expressed objections over the two lists of candidates announced so far and was absent at both press conferences where the lists were declared earlier this month. However the Delhi-based AAP leader didn’t share the video with media, but said, “The video is incriminating.
