TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi spoke in favour of triple talaq calling the Muslim community to support triple talaq. Owaisi said that the Muslim community should learn from the people protesting in Tamil Nadu in support of Jallikattu and launch a similar protest for our culture.
He also said that “Muslim community have their own culture and we should be allowed to marry the way we want.” Owaisi had earlier said that “India cannot have a uniform civil code.” He had also accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of interfering in the matter of Muslims. Calling the protests over Jallikattu ban the Centre’s efforts to introduce a uniform civil code in the country, he had described the ban as a lesson for Hindutva forces. “Jallikattu protests, lesson for Hindutva forces,” Owaisi tweeted.
He also added in the tweet that a “Uniform Civil Code cannot be imposed”. “This nation cannot have one culture, we celebrate all,” he said. Owaisi had always been at loggerheads with the RSS over its campaign for an uniform civil code in the country.
