TIL Desk/National/Guwahati/ Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the government has approved National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) proposal to open a research cell on terror group ISIS. He added that 100 new posts have been created in the NIA for effective investigation and supervision.
“Terror funding is a big factor in promoting terrorism. With NIA’s role there has been a decline in terror funding,” Mr Singh said in Guwahati while inaugurating two new office-cum-housing complexes of the NIA.
Mr Singh added that the NIA has been successful in achieving coordination with other agencies like the police and the anti-terror squads of different states. “The conviction rate of the NIA is 92 per cent. It is a matter of pride for all us,” he added.

Home Minister also said that the circulation of fake currency notes in the
country has also declined due to the combined efforts of the NIA and other
central and state agencies, he said.
