TIL Desk/National/UP-Preparing for a high stake battle in UP, BJP in the last week of August will launch a 100 day mass campaign programme in the poll bound state. Seeking to return to power after 15 years of isolation, the party plans to flag off four ‘parivatyan yatra’ to kick-start what is slated to be a high decibel no-holds-barred electoral battle in 2017.
Each ‘parivatyan yatra’ will travel through at least one hundred assembly segments, cumulatively covering all 403 seats in the state. Top ministers and leaders will participate in the Yatra at regular intervals. The party is also working on engaging it’s 17 Dalits MPs from UP to arrest damage inflicted by recent incidents of atrocities against Dalits.
Despite the PM’s repeated and un-ambiguous castigation, the damage at the ground level has already been done. These MPs have been assigned to visit Dalit dominated areas in a renewed outreach. These programmes have been finalised at the state executive of the party held in Jhansi to prepare the blueprint of the UP Polls. State General Secretary of the BJP Vijay Bahadur Pathak acknowledged BJP needs to travel a lot on the ground before elections.
