TIL Desk/National/UP/ Walking on the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an attempt to realize his aspiration of seeing Swachh Bharat, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a fresh step to ensure cleanliness in the state. In an order released by the newly appointed Chief Minister, he has asked the Uttar Pradesh police to run a cleanliness drive at police stations and police lines every Friday. The most interesting part in Yogi’s order is the fact that the police officers themselves would clean the police stations.
The cleanliness drive took a start on Tuesday morning. A lot of people were startled to see policemen brooming outside the police stations. Bharatiya Janta Party had mentioned Swachh Uttar Pradesh and laid special focus on cleanliness in its party manifesto ahead of the elections.
As per an order released by SSP Moradabad, he has asked all the head of police stations to take a pledge and contribute to cleanliness drive in UP. Swachh Bharat mission was initiated by PM Modi in 2014.
