I will continue to speak against Modi: Mamata

TIL Desk/National/Kolkata (West Bengal)/ Continuing her outburst against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for demonetisation of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stood firm in her resolve and said that she will continue to speak against the decision even if her neck was on the line.

“A loss of Rs. 5.500 crore was reported after demonetisation and around six lakh farmers including tea and jute labourers lost their work. There is no cash in many districts, whether people will get food or not, is still in question. This decision by the Central Government will result in a huge crisis in all states,” she said.

Mamata also appealed to President Pranab Mukherjee to “save” the nation by “setting up” another government as the ruling dispensation is incapable of running the Centre. “Hallabazi is going on by this government. I appeal to the President to save us as no government can bulldoze on people like this. I want a new government to be set up to save the country from this situation for two and half years,” she said.
