If an Aurangzeb comes, a Shivaji rises: PM@Kashi

TIL Desk/National/Varanasi/ After inaugurating Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, PM Narendra Modi starts his address with the chant of ‘Har Har Mahadev’.  Modi begins his speech in Bhojpuri on the occasion.  “Today, I would also like to express my gratitude towards every labourer who has worked for the construction of this grand complex. Even during Covid-19, the work did not stop here.

“Earlier the temple area here was only 3,000 square feet. It has now become about 5 lakh square feet. Now 50,000 to 75,000 devotees can come to the temple and temple premises. “People with vested interests spread allegations against Varanasi. There is only one government in Kashi. The government belongs to the ones with dumroos in their hands. No one comes here without the desire of Mahadev. Whatever has happened here, Mahadev has done.

“Varanasi has withstood through time, has seen sultanates come and go. Aurangzeb tried to crush traditions, but this country is different from others. If an Aurangzeb comes, a Shivaji rises. “The last time this much work was done for Kashi was when Ahiylabai Holkar rebuilt the temple in the 1700s.”
