TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that India is capable of defeating all inimical forces whether they came from the sea, the border, the cyber world or space. In his Independence Day speech, Modi said security of the country is a priority for the government.
“Security of the country is our priority. Internal security is our priority. Whether it is our oceans or borders, cyber world or space, for all kinds of security India is capable of defeating all such inimical forces,” Modi said.
Modi’s remarks come as Indian and Chinese forces are in a standoff in Doklam in Sikkim sector since mid-June. The stand-off close to the tri-junction of India-China-Bhutan has led to escalation in tensions between the two countries.
Modi also said that surgical strikes on terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control in September last year proved to the world India’s strength.
“Our uniformed forces have achieved the pinnacle of sacrifice in fighting left-wing extremism, terrorism, infiltration and elements disturbing peace. The world had to recognise the strength of India and its clout in the surgical strikes,” Modi said.
